What I have learned from Joel more than anything is that no matter what life throws at me (and there have been many challenges), or no matter what prayers dont get answered (Ive had major health challenges since I was a child) is to stay in faith. Joel makes it clear that God wont answer all of our prayers. It's the same way with our Heavenly Father. You father-in-law sounds like a wonderful man.
